On Monday, May 16, visibility was reduced on the roads in Baghdad (Iraq), as powerful dust storms swept through the region. Early Monday, the Ministry of Health instructed health departments across the country to prepare for emergencies resulting from dust storms. Flights from Baghdad’s international airports resumed on Monday afternoon after they were temporarily suspended due to dust, local media reported, while Basra International Airport in eastern Iraq was forced to close.
