The Alachua County Sheriff warned drivers to “expect the unexpected” after a tree fell on a car in Gainesville, Florida on October 11. Video footage released by the sheriff’s office shows the moment the tree fell, snapping power lines and landing on a passing car. “The tree service was cutting down a tree that fell on a power line,” the sheriff’s office said. “They attempted to duck off part of Newberry Road, but when deputies arrived on scene, the tree had snapped over power lines, struck a vehicle and taken a power pole with it.” No casualties have been reported.
