Arnott’s group will build a multimillion-dollar manufacturing facility in Avondale, West Auckland, following the acquisition of a local company 180degrees 180degrees a year ago.

This is part of the group’s broader growth strategy through category expansion and acquisition.

The new site, which is expected to open in early 2023, will be a hub of high-end entertainment for The Arnott’s Group, originally controlled by a 180-degree range. This will create dozens of jobs in production and support local suppliers of goods across the region.

CEO George Zogby said the group is proud to have returned to New Zealand, a country with a strong and loyal consumer base.

“In 25 years, we look forward to reopening Arnott’s Group’s special facility in New Zealand with a renewed sense of agility and innovation that will help support our regional drive to become an energy hub for consumer food brands,” Zogby said.

“The new site will open up significant opportunities for the 180degrees brand as it continues to grow both domestically and in Australia, and stimulates growth in the premium entertainment category for Arnott’s.”

The head of Arnott’s Group NZ Mike Coolern said the announcement was a significant victory for the country’s food industry and marked a vote of confidence as to what could be achieved in New Zealand.

The Arnott’s Group NZ site is under construction.

“Last year, Arnott’s experienced strong growth in New Zealand business through the acquisition of 180degrees, and we are confident that the new site, equipped with the latest equipment, will become a true hub for food innovation and a market leader in new product development,” Coolern said.

“The 180degrees brand was founded in New Zealand and still has a strong and loyal fan base. We strive to maintain the essence of the 180degrees brand, and much of it is its relationship with consumers, retailers and local New Zealand suppliers. ”

180degrees co-founder Nigel Cranston said the announcement marked the full realization of the brand’s ambitions.

“We started 180 degrees 21 years ago with a small assortment of handmade cookies and small but loyal fans,” he said. “Today, together with The Arnott’s Group, we have been able to increase our consumer base and continue to create products filled with the character and taste that have always embodied us. «

“Today’s announcement will allow us to get our products to more homes in New Zealand, Australia and elsewhere.”
