David Reynolds and Cameron Waters were indifferent, despite the fact that they were 16th in a 12-hour Bathurst qualification after failing to complete a flight circle.

The Supercar pair rides with Tony Bates in an Audi R8 LMS Evo II № 24, in the second quarter the team was hampered by a red flag that ended the session early.

As a result, Bates was the only rider to complete the lap at full throttle, finishing sixth in speed in the Am session.

This lowered his team to the table at 1 m 25 s of pace.

The trio was expected to be close to the leaders given their extensive experience and high quality equipment.

Reynolds was not too worried, knowing that in 12 hours a lot could happen.

“We’re only 1 million 25 seconds off the pace,” Reynolds joked.

“Well, when all the cars were crashing and they were shortening the session, I never held a full circle.

“So that’s why it looks so pathetic.”

Waters was also optimistic, looking forward to having his teammates make their way early on Mount Panorama.

“We’re just throwing dice,” Waters said.

“I can’t start the race, so either Reynolds or Tony have to start the race.

“They can throw bones, crack and do something different than everyone else.”

The Tony Bates Racing team will watch the top 10 shootings at 16:10 Western Standard Time.

Tomorrow they will start at 16 o’clockth online.
