Australian Sheldon Riley has reached the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy.
The 23-year-old singer, who grew up on the Gold Coast, performed his song Not the Same, wearing a crystal mask and bright white clothes that contained about 180,000 crystals.
Australia was one of 18 performers in the second semi-final on Thursday night and along with Belgium, the Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, Poland, Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Romania and Serbia moved on to the decisive.
They will join 10 successful countries from the first semifinal.
The Ukrainian Kalush Orchestra is considered the favorite to win Eurovision on Saturday night (Sunday morning AEST).
