Finally, Coinbase offers Australian customers 24/7 in-app chat support so they can trade with confidence.

As part of the company’s international expansion strategy, John O’Loghlen was recently appointed Australia Director to establish the company’s market presence by building new partnerships and supporting a growing customer base. Formerly Regional Director of Ant Group, John has a wealth of experience enabling consumers and businesses to access all financial services through technological innovation.

“Australians were among the world’s first adopters of digital currencies and are savvy investors. They trusted Coinbase as one of the first platforms to enable and facilitate their crypto investments, and now we’re expanding their experience to use the platform locally,” said O’Loghlen. “With over 200 assets available on the Coinbase exchange, Australian customers now have a broader and more seamless access to the crypto ecosystem.”

Coinbase already has strong connections in the Australian market as a member of Blockchain Australia, the country’s largest industry network for companies implementing or evaluating blockchain technology. In addition, Coinbase is partnering with a local payments innovator Cepta to provide on-ramp and off-ramp Australian currency services in Australia. At the same time, the Coinbase Institute partnered with RMIT’s Blockchain Innovation Hub, one of the world’s leading blockchain groups, to assess the potential of Web3 technologies for the Australian economy.

Coinbase has also invested in Australia’s Web3 and crypto ecosystem through Coinbase Ventures – its portfolio includes local leaders ImmutableX, CoFiX, Synthetix, Block Earner and CryptoTaxCalculator.
