Bathurst Day is upon us and the supercars graced the mountain for the final time ahead of today’s 2022 Bathurst 1000 during warm-up on Sunday morning.

On the eve of its 1,000th championship race, Dick Johnson Racing topped the timesheets in warm-up thanks to the #17 of Will and Alex Davison.

Main driver Will Davison set a fastest time of 2:22.46 at the death to give him extra confidence before the brothers start The Great Race from fifth place.

With the track still wet from the night before and the race expected to be run on a drying circuit, outright pace was not the main priority as race preparations such as co-driver changes were the number one priority in agenda during the continuous session.

After the shootout didn’t happen, all 28 cars hit the track in search of collecting valuable data.

PremiAir Racing’s James Golding looked to be on course for his first top of the weekend and his 2:23.185 was the time to go for most of the session until Davison pounced.

Lee Holdsworth and Matt Payne start from 2nd on the grid and the pair also finished second in the warm up ahead of Golding and Dylan O’Keeffe.

The combinations of James Courtney and Zane Goddard and Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander rounded out the top five, but both were more than a second behind the leader.

After all practice, qualifying and warm-up, all eyes will turn to the 11.15am start/finish as the 2022 Bathurst 1000 comes to life.
