New York: Gislen Maxwell has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for aiding wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein in sexual assault on teenage girls.
Wednesday’s sentencing (AEST) was the culmination of a lawsuit that detailed how Epstein and Maxwell flaunted their wealth and connections to celebrities to honor vulnerable girls and then exploit them.
These crimes occurred even at a time when the couple met some of the most famous and wealthy people in the world, including former US Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump and Prince Andrew of England.
Epstein killed himself in prison pending trial. Maxwell denied that he was an accomplice of Epstein.
