A section of grain bunkers at the Lebanese port of Beirut collapsed on Sunday, July 31, just days before the second anniversary of the deadly Beirut bombing in 2020 that killed more than 200 people. According to local news reports, a fire broke out in the bunkers in early July 2022, caused by fermentation of wheat and grain left in the damaged structure. In a statement released after the collapse, the Port of Beirut said that the port would stop receiving wheat shipments was false and that measures had been taken in advance to deal with such an incident. This drone footage, uploaded to Aisi Beirut’s Facebook page, shows the collapsed part of the bunkers and flames still burning at the site. Posted by Ici Beyrouth via Storyful
