The rapid transition to a hybrid work environment poses challenges for IT service management, according to a new report from ManageEngineenterprise IT management department Zoho Corporation.

A survey of IT staff found that an average of three-fifths of the work teams of organizations now operate in hybrid mode. As a result, IT asset management (46%) as well as communication and collaboration (41%) have become the biggest challenges facing ITSM teams.

But the report found that businesses are better equipped to support remote work than at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

An additional 47% of organizations now provide mobile assets to employees, and 52% of respondents believe that because of the pandemic, the organization perceives IT and treats them better.

However, 40% of organizations still do not have a BYOD policy, and 34% still do not offer users self-help opportunities.

“The survey clearly shows that traditional IT needs to transform the world after the pandemic to meet the new realities in the workplace,” said ManageEngine evangelist Kumaravel Ramakrishnan.

“Self-organizing teams, high-quality workflows and a digital approach to customer use are the hallmarks of democratized modern IT. At ManageEngine, we focus on helping customers embrace these changes and better support their customers and businesses in hybrid workplaces. ”
