A man who was stabbed in broad daylight when he tried to stop a thief who stole a boy’s bike has tragically died, and the hunt for the attacker is now being investigated for murder.

The 42-year-old victim was near the intersection of Camm Avenue and Goddard Way in Bull Creek around 10:20 a.m. Sunday when he collided with a teenager trying to steal a bicycle.

The teenager stabbed the victim in the stomach, and an armed teenager fled the scene.

Neighbors reportedly saw the victim lying bloodied in the street and crying in pain after the attack.

He was taken to St. John’s Ambulance Hospital at the Royal Hospital of Perth.

On Monday, police confirmed the man had died.
