Disability Sports Australia (DSA) is excited to host the 2019 Lawn Bowls National Championship for People with Disabilities, to be held in Mackay, QLD, from Sunday 19 to Friday, 24 May 2019 at the Souths Suburban Bowls Club.
The National Cartoon Championship for People with Disabilities, otherwise known as the “Multiball”, is the main gallon competition for athletes with disabilities in Australia. The 2019 Multibowl will feature forty-five (45) athletes from six (6) states and territories during six (6) days of competition for national awards.
Teams from New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia and the Australian Capital Territory will meet in Mackay next week, and Queensland wants to defend their 2018 overall national title in front of a home audience.
Jenny Cole, CEO of Disability Sports Australia, expressed her excitement over the event, saying: “We look forward to welcoming the best Australian bowlers with physical disabilities to Mackay at Multibowl 2019. For the first time, not only QLD audiences will be able to cheer on athletes. Luna Bowls from all over Australia will have the opportunity to support these amazing athletes during the finals through a live introduction ”.
This is a great event for fans, families and avid bowlers on the lawn, and if you can’t attend in person, the final matches will be broadcast for the first time on Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24.
