Victorian Opposition Leader Matthew Guy has pledged to spend $400 million on improving Maroondah Hospital in Melbourne’s east if elected to government in November.

Sky News reporter Julia Bradley said: “If they are elected to government in November, the money … will be spent on building a new emergency department here, a new intensive care unit, as well as a new ward with 100 new hospital beds, bringing the total number of beds to 426”.

“They also want to improve the cancer center … and build a new training center.

“The opposition have really tried to make health their main election platform in the run-up to November 26 … they want to tackle the elective surgery waiting list and end ambulances.”
