Michael Zerafa’s return should be eventful, and the 30-year-old is in line to face Mexican star Jaime Mungi.

On Thursday, Zerafa’s camp held talks with Mangia’s camp, and if Melbourne’s average weight had been different, it “was on its first flight.”

But with a number of moving parts, this fight, which is expected to take place abroad, is unlikely to happen any time soon.

However, Zerafa, who became the world’s second contender for the IBF after an early suspension in Isaac Hardman’s second round last month in Melbourne, suddenly became a sought-after man with an Australian who could also fight Brazilian Esqui Falcao back in early September.

“Because I didn’t fight, now I have Mungi, I (potentially) have a triple G (the only world champion Gennady Golovkin) and I have a Falco, so that’s what we want for Australian boxing,” – said Zeraph. foxsports.com.au.

“It’s huge for sports.

“If it was from me, I would be on the first flight to fight Mangia.”

Zeraf explains his sudden turn in destiny by a change of attitude.

“I had a difficult career,” he said.

“I fought with everyone, I cleaned my yard.

“I fought the best in the world and didn’t succeed, but I really feel like a penny has fallen for me and I really believe I can shock the world again.”

Just as Tim Jiu this weekend gets a bird’s eye view of Jermel Charles and Brian Castan in Los Angeles for the first undisputed fight for the world lightweight boxing championship, Zerafa will be watching closely.

Zerafa said he expects Charla to come out on top, despite the fact that Castana is sorry he didn’t win last year in San Antonio, where the judges credited the fight with a draw.

“I think Charla will win,” Zerafa said.

“Charla had a bad first fight. I believe Castana won the first fight, but they gave a draw.

“But I think Charles will be much more prepared, involved and defeat him. I think Charlo’s skills will be too good and he will bounce back. “

Jiu is a mandatory contender for the WBO belt and will be in the ring for the fight, leaving Sydney after his younger brother’s second win in a professional bout in Newcastle on Wednesday night.

Although Zerafa still wants to face Jiu in “fights with Australian boxing,” he said his opponent has a tough task ahead of him who would win this weekend.

“I don’t think Tim has passed enough testing in Australia,” Zerafa said.

“If he gets the title of world champion, bring him home. But he’s out there in the deep waters and I really believe he’s in trouble and it doesn’t go over six rounds with these boys.

“As far as Tim and I have different differences, but Timmy brought it home, dude. If he has the opportunity, we hope that we will lag behind each other, because that is what we need. ”
