Controversial memoirs of Prince Harry have not yet received an official release date, which has led to allegations that it has been postponed.
The plans to create the 37-year-old book “Intimate and Emotional” were announced last year when its publisher said it was “pre-scheduled for the end of 2022.”
The confusion over the release date comes amid reports that the Sussex have broken up with their global spokesperson Toya Holness, making it the last of at least 12 of their top employees to leave in 2018.
Miss Holness, who joined the Archewell couple in October 2020, was described as “Megan’s shadow” and was reportedly one of a small group of officials who spoke daily with Harry and Megan.
Last year, it turned out that Harry had signed a deal with publisher Penguin Random House, and he reportedly worked with ghost writer, novelist John Möringer.
Harry said he wrote “not as the prince I was born, but as the man I became,” showing that he wanted to include “the ups and downs, the mistakes learned.”
Sources say the memoirs would have attracted a multimillion-dollar advance, although Harry said he would donate the proceeds to charity.
A Random House spokesman declined to comment on the publication date and did not confirm whether it would be released this year.
The source said there was “some uncertainty” regarding the release date.
The Palace feared that any harmful revelations from the book could overshadow the celebration of the Queen’s platinum anniversary.
But a delay with the publication could mean the prince is now including his experiences with the anniversary, following speculation about the role he and Megan may play in public events next month.
It will be the first time in more than two years that 40-year-old Megan has spent time with the wider royal family, although she visited the Queen last month before traveling to Sussex’s Invictus Games.
