Public administration and constitutional reform

Australian Science and Technology is conducting a review of governance and constitutional modernization – a project we launched in 2019.

Suspended amid a pandemic in 2020, this large enterprise resumed in 2021 with a series of advisory forums for STA members and presentations at a general meeting.

The STA membership survey in May 2022 further helped the Reform Working Group confirm our views and design suggestions that were sent to the STA Council in mid-June.

With the approval of the Board, we are pleased to present these proposals to the full STA.

With your support, we intend to move quickly to the final phase of this work.

Below you will find a detailed overview of the proposed changes. It describes the proposed new model and how it aligns with the feedback from the members who managed the process at each stage.

Feedback is required by Thursday, July 21 – please contact us at info@sta.org.au

For STA, exciting times have come as we prepare to take the next step in modernizing our organization.
