A massive crash with 11 cars in Queensland led to a stop on the main motorway, which led to hourly delays amid wet weather in the state.

The accident with several cars took place in the southern lanes of the Pacific Highway in Greensloops – a suburb south of Brisbane – at 6 am.

The Queensland Ambulance Service took six people to hospital, with a total of 13 patients being rendered at the scene.

One person was taken out of the car when traffic stopped as a result of an accident that blocked all four lanes for visitors to the city.

Only one lane to the south is open, police are diverting traffic to Gaza Road in Holland Park.

Travelers are urged to avoid the area as authorities work to clear the scene.

The second accident with several cars in Loganholm also caused long delays for drivers moving south.

Drivers are urged to avoid the Benly Redland Bay road as the right lane, which is blocked, remains blocked.

A third accident on the Gateway motorway also causes long delays for drivers heading north of Brisbane.
