Oscar winner Gladiator actor Russell Crowe has a lot to smile about these days after walking the red carpet with girlfriend Britney Theriot in Rome over the weekend.
He quickly completed three films in a row (five more in the pipeline), had just been appointed ambassador to Rome, and to top it all off he was hand-in-hand with former actor and real estate agent Ms. Theriot at the world premiere of his film Poker Face.
Attending the premiere of Alice nella Città during the 17th Rome Film Festival at the Auditorium della Conciliazione on October 16, Crowe and Theriot turned heads as they hugged and smiled to hundreds of fans.
Crowe, 58, and Theriot, 31, “looked lovingly at each other as Crowe put his arm around his girlfriend’s waist.” Us Weekly.
Despite their 27-year age gap, the couple have kept their relationship out of the limelight since tying the knot in November 2020, when Daily Mail took a picture of a couple kissing while playing tennis in Sydney.
Crowe was previously married to Australian singer Danielle Spencer from 2003 to 2012, with whom he has two sons, Charles, 18, and Tennyson, 16.
Romance away from the limelight
After finalizing their divorce from Spencer in 2018, which was marked by the Art of Divorce auction featuring his work, Crowe and Theriot were photographed by only a handful of dedicated paparazzi wherever they went.
In February, they were seen among the crowds visiting the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and a month later they boarded a private jet to Crowe’s 400-hectare Hunter Valley farm in Nana Glen.
Since then, they have been regularly spotted together on set in Thailand The Greatest Beer Run of All Time traveled to St. Tropez in France and, most recently, in Italy Papal Exorcist.
Theriot has not publicly shared the details of her relationship on social media.
Her Instagram is private and she last updated her Facebook page in August 2021 when she revealed that she is from New Orleans, Louisiana.
She went to a private Catholic high school for girls in New Orleans, St. Mary’s Dominican High School, and went on to study electrical engineering at Louisiana State University.
In accordance with Peopleaspiring actor Theriot was 22 when she reportedly met Crowe on the set of the 2013 film broken city which also stars Mark Wahlberg (Joe’s father) and Welsh actor Catherine Zeta-Jones.
In October 2017, Theriot joined the real estate agency in Louisiana Mirambell Realty Company as an agent, reported People, and by 2019 she was one of the top individual producers. It is still listed on their website.
After meeting Crowe, Theriot had two new authors in the film industry database IMDb.
She is credited with “special thanks” for his 2020 action film freed and described as “assistant: Mr. Crowe” on The Greatest Beer Run Ever earlier this year.
A rep for Crowe’s LA has been contacted for comment.
“I am always at the service of Rome”
Also close to Crowe’s heart now is Rome, where his 2000 Ridley Scott film was shot Gladiator in which he played Maximus, a general forced into slavery before becoming a gladiator.
He has been filming for the last few months papal exorcist in which he plays the real-life Father Gabriele Amorto, a priest who served as the Vatican’s chief exorcist and who performed more than 100,000 exorcisms in his lifetime.
To round off a busy year, his film Poker Face – made in New South Wales during the COVID-19 lockdown – premiered at the Eternal City Film Festival last weekend.
On October 15, the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, admitted Crowe’s love for his ancient city, welcoming the actor to the city hall, located on the ancient Capitoline Hill, and stepping out onto the balcony.
South Sydney Rabbitohs co-owner Crowe joked on social media about the mayor wearing the colors of his favorite rugby club (also the colors of the Italian flag).
He was presented with a commemorative plaque and the title of “ambassador of Rome in the world”.
The mayor said the city is giving the plaque “as a symbol of Rome’s friendship and commitment to Russell Crowe.”
