Surry Hills: Man in critical condition after EMS crash, head injuries

A 32-year-old man spent the night in hospital after being hit by an ambulance on its way to a call.

Police were called to Elizabeth Street in Surry Hills shortly after midnight following reports that an ambulance had hit a pedestrian.

At the scene, the man was treated by medics with severe head injuries.

An ambulance is believed to have responded to an emergency call.

The man was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Law enforcement officers established the scene of the incident and began investigating the circumstances of the incident.
