Incumbent Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen is optimistic about the good 12th hour at Bathurst this year, teaming up with Brock Feeney and Prince Jeffrey Ibrahim.

Van Gisbergen, a former winner of the 12-hour program, is excited to return to Bathurst and see what they can do.

During a regular week van Gisbergen shares a garage with Feeney. However, he also shares Triple Eight Race Engineering Mercedes AMG, in which along with the Prince participates in the GT World Challenge Australia.

Prince Jeffrey Ibrahim is a member of the Johor Royal Family of Malaysia and has been racing GT cars for Triple Eight for several years.

Van Gisbergen was impressed by the dedication and hard work the prince puts into his car races, and it sounds confident that it will pay off.

“I am very happy for Prince Jeffrey,” van Gisbergen said after Sunday’s victory in Perth.

“The last few years he has worked very hard; the effort he puts in while learning.

“This is his first endurance race – last week he did some tests in Sepang.

“It will be a very proud moment to see how he is involved in such a great race, so happy to be his navigator and see how we proceed.”

This year’s 12-hour Bathurst race is unique, in which a clear victory in the race is fought among Pro-Am teams.

May – the last event in the history of the 12 o’clock Bathurst event, which means more night time, SVG admits that it has already forced Feeney to take this place.

“It starts early, Brock has young eyes, so he can start, which will be good,” laughed van Gisbergen. “I did my best not to get up early.

“It has to be great, I love this race.

“The middle of the year will be interesting. 6 o’clock Bathurst was quite foggy until nine o’clock, so pray there was no fog for 12 hours.
