The new fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail took quite some time to get to Australia – a version for the US market was introduced in June 2020 – but finally, it’s just around the corner.
In connection with the arrival of the dealer in the second half of 2022, Nissan Australia has provided some details regarding the details of the specifications that can be expected from its competitors Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5 and Mitsubishi Outlander.
However, we will not receive final prices for several months.

The next-generation Nissan X-Trail will be available in four familiar spec classes called ST, ST-L, Ti and Ti-L. They are all slightly wider and higher than before, which means that Nissan will remain one of the largest cars in its class.
Everyone will run on a gasoline engine, and everyone will get more safety features than ever before; much more modern interior displays than the current car; and new features such as center console, wireless charger and spray-free wipers are available.

Under the completely redesigned body, the X-Trail uses the same Renault-Nissan Alliance CMF-C platform as the new Mitsubishi Outlander, which came on the market last year.
It runs on the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol with 135 kW and 245 Nm of torque, which is 9 kW and 19 Nm more than the previous model, combined with the CVT. Load capacity up to 500 kg up to 2000 kg with trailer.

The available all-wheel drive system (AWD) will have Eco, Standard and Sports driving modes, as well as scale-controlled traction modes that adjust power supply and traction control to work better on bitumen, straight, ice or snow. There is also a descent control system.
Nissan is also advancing a cargo compartment with an adjustable floor “double board” with 16 different configurations claimed, while seven seats will be a “certain class” option as before – although Nissan doesn’t give specifics.
