The Banna Lane Festival has announced a new lineup for the 2022 program, receiving huge interest and applications. The festival is getting bigger and better every year, attracting over 50 entries from international artists in addition to 30 from Australian creatives. Festival manager Carra Lymer said it proves the festival is eye-catching. “Our festival, although small, has attracted the attention of the international art community. The curator of the festival is one of the best parts of my work, but also one of the most difficult, because every year we have only a small number of walls to connect the artist.” The organizers of the festival decided to focus on Australian artists this year to avoid unpleasant surprises such as travel restrictions that prevent artists from flying, and stressed that they are trying to bring back international artists in the coming years. three came from faraway Australia, including Claire Foxton, Thomas Jackson and Michael Black from across the country, as well as local artists Caris Andy, the duo of Diane Tarr and Lisa Taliana, and the Straight Lines Design and Marketing team. Straight Lines Design said the whole team is very excited to participate. “We supported the program, we grew a little. Last year we helped some m artists and held a master class, so this year we are painting an electric box installed on the site, ”she said. “This is a really great initiative and we are very filled with creativity this year … Expect something bright, colorful and fun!” Of course, frescoes are not the only attraction of the festival. This year will again focus on local youth, holding workshops and school tours to attract some of Griffith’s young residents. As always, the “Lane Lighting” event will close the festival on May 7, illuminating murals for an evening of music, cultural performances, food and drink. The Banna Lane Festival will start on April 26 – more information about the events together with the festival can be found at www.bannalanefestival.com.
