The death toll from the collapse of a building in the southern Iranian city of Abadan has reached 10, with some people still missing, according to the official IRNA news agency.

A 10-storey residential and commercial building partially collapsed on Monday, leaving at least 80 people trapped, state television reported.

“After several hours of emergency, 30 people who were trapped were taken alive and taken to hospital for treatment of injuries,” – told IRNA Deputy Governor of Khuzestan Province.

The number of people left under the constipation remains unclear.

The head of the Khuzestan province has ordered an investigation into the crash, and its owner and the contractor who built it have been arrested, state television reported.
