“Naturally, we are delighted with the results supported by our high-performance department and the contribution of many to Australian cricket.”
New head coach Andrew MacDonald has been replaced as coach. Former New Zealand captain Dan Vetory is expected to be appointed this week as a senior assistant, and Andre Borovets is set to join the group alongside Michael Di Venuta.
Borovets and MacDonald worked with White Ball captain Aaron Finch on a single BBL title in Melbourne Renegades in 2019. Also elected was Bickley’s permanent replacement, former WA physiotherapist Nick Jones.
Graham Manu’s head of national development left Cricket Australia earlier this month to become CEO of High Performance for Victoria.
In August last year, Langer was dismissed from the field after a riot of players and support staff, and the daily training of the team was led by a senior assistant MacDonald, later appointed head coach.
The quick removal of Bickley before the Pakistani tour has upset players and support staff who believe he was an important part of the team supporting a quality Australian attack on the field in difficult conditions.

Oliver, once a casual Victorian sailor, was a highly effective manager at the Western Australia Cricket Association for seven years before joining Cricket Australia in 2019.
He worked closely with Langer: Perth Scorchers won three Big Bash titles and Western Australia two one-day trophies.
Earlier this year, several sources claimed that Oliver had originally offered Langer to sign another contract as an Australian coach for two years.
After a marathon meeting in early February, the Cricket Australia board offered Langer a six-month transitional contract and no chance of continuing.
Langer resigned amid the cries of former great figures and teammates who publicly supported Langer and were angry at the way he was treated.
It was a protracted and chaotic process that overwhelmed the success of Australia’s women’s cricket team during the Ashes series in January and February last year.
