The Mercedes-AMG A45 and CLA45 Edition 55 are confirmed for Australia

Mercedes-AMG celebrates 55 years with a pair of special 45s.

Performance Mercedes-Benz produces 55 special editions of the A45 S and CLA45 S.

The first arrivals will appear later this year, and Mercedes-AMG will announce prices closer so far. Mercedes-AMG has also not yet published photos of the A45 S Edition 55.

Both ride on distinctive 19-inch forged discs with crossed spokes, trimmed in titanium gray and with a unique center cap.

Edition 55 models also come standard with AMG Aerodynamics, AMG Night and AMG Night II.

The “Aerodynamics” package includes a front apron with a large front splitter with additional flicks, as well as an AMG rear wing and deflectors on the artificial side air vents of the rear apron. All are made in glossy black.

Two Night packages add an even more glossy black finish, including on-line windows, strip trim, badges and exterior mirror housings.

Exhaust grilles and grilles are additionally treated with black temple, and the window glass has a dark heat-insulating hue.

They will be available in only two metallic finishes: Cosmos Black or Digital White. Regardless of color, the Edition 55 is adorned with stickers with the AMG logo and rhombus design.

Open the door and you will find a cabin filled with red and black. There are two-tone leather seats AMG Performance, as well as the steering wheel AMG Performance, treated with microfiber Dinamica and decorated with the Edition 55 badge and black markings for 12 hours.

There is a finish of dark polished aluminum, as well as additional black and red accents.

The finishing touches are the overlays on the thresholds with the inscription “AMG”, highlighted in red, and velor mats with red firmware.

Mercedes-AMG will also include a branded indoor car cover for all Edition 55 models.

Although the company has not yet announced pricing, the standard A45 S costs $ 99,895 before going out on the road, and the CLA45 S costs $ 118,496 before going out on the road.

Both models are equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 310 kW of power and 500 Nm of torque combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission with dual clutch and all-wheel drive.

A version of this engine is in the new C43, while a more powerful, electrified version will be offered in the new C63.
