Dakar Dueller Toby Price has one eye on the Supercar when he looks at the long-term transition from two to four laps.

The 34-year-old KTM factory racer is already involved in off-road traffic, including a Mitsubishi-powered racer on whom he will compete in Finke Desert Race next month, but sees a potential discovery in Supercars.

He has talked about the ordeal for some time and is a close friend of Chase Mastert and Shane van Gisbergen, but knows he needs to move.

Price believes he may still have five more years of racing on motorcycles and he will be one of the favorites at Dakar in 2023, but also knows that his two-wheeler time can’t go on forever.

“On a motorcycle you can only get to the 38th or 40th point to be competitive. If I leave now, I wonder if I will look back in 30 years and wonder: “What if?” – He says.

“Although I have the speed and ability for another victory in Dakar, I want to take this chance. I want to do as much on two wheels as I can.

“I don’t want to hang a helmet on a motorcycle. I know I can win another Dakar without being arrogant. Or two.

“I’m just trying to grab the last few windows on two wheels. And then I’ll see what happens next. “

Price spoke openly with AA about his plans in four-wheeled motorsport, including the supercar championship, and how he plans to get there.
