The Reds accept the application for the Premier League title until the last day

Joel Matip guaranteed that the race for the Premier League title would take place on the last day when Liverpool came out behind and won Southampton 2-1.

The Reds, who showed nine changes from the FA Cup final over Chelsea over the weekend, were early in the fall due to a great shot by Nathan Redmond.

However, Liverpool responded with a formidable strike by Takumi Minamin before the break and continued to secure victory in the second half when Matip headed the corner in the 67th minute.

The victory moved Jurgen Klopp’s subordinates just one point away from Manchester City at the summit, which means that the relevant showdowns of the teams on the last day with the Wolves and Aston Villa will determine the purpose of the title.

Liverpool enjoyed a lot of goals in the beginning, but were intimidated when Armand Broy escaped for a break before being denied by Alison’s lagging foot.

Failure to heed this warning was punished just 13 minutes later when another meeting in Southampton ended with Redmond cutting off the left to hit curling in the top right corner.

The bug was outraged by the failure to assign a foul on Diogo Jota in the build-up of that goal, but that didn’t stop his team from responding well to the failure.

They were equalized when Roberto Firmino was offside in a free kick, but in the 27th minute the tie was restored when Minamino scored a nice pass from Diogo Jota from close range.

This caused a bowl of Liverpool dominance, although they failed to punish some of the weak saints who defended themselves before the break, as a result of which Joe Gomez withdrew due to injury. Shortly after the restart after the excellent work of Costas Timikas Jota extended the ball in.

The odds kept coming, Harvey Elliott hit the side net, Iota tilted to the side, and Firmino struck a weak shot from distance. So it wasn’t a real surprise when the goal finally came and, in fact, was also not a method.

Only Leicester City have conceded more goals than Southampton in the Premier League this season, while Liverpool have thus scored 15 goals, adding another one when Matip met from the corner of Timikas and killed one.

Southampton tried to come together from there, but had a hard time seeing most of the ball as Liverpool ensured that City still had something to work on on the last day.
