Science and Technology Australia congratulates Ms. Judy Zilke PSM with her appointment today as Director-General of the Australian Research Council.
In February, Ms. Zelke became Acting Director General of a major research grant agency.
She has already demonstrated a strong desire to be involved in the research sector as she examines the work program requested by Acting Minister of Education Stuart Robert in his Waiting list in December last year.
Director General of Science & Technology Australia Misha Schubert said:
“The STA community congratulates Judy Zilke on her appointment to this important role in Australian research.”
“This is a challenging leadership role that requires in-depth knowledge of the world of research, public service and parliament.”
“Ms. Zilke’s extensive experience in these worlds and her clear desire to engage the research sector on key issues and test ideas before implementation will become a strong asset in the future.”
“We look forward to working with her and her team as she leads the agency into the next era.”
Science and Technology President of Australia Professor Mark Hutchinson was intended this week to participate in the ARC Director-General’s Extended Advisory Committee.
