The New Wales government will allow hotels and registered clubs to extend their shopping hours so visitors can celebrate events such as Vivid Sydney, the Tamworth Country Music Festival, the Parkes Elvis Festival and the NRL Grand Final.
Hospitality and Racing Minister Kevin Anderson said the extended time gives visitors extra time to socialize and enjoy major entertainment events, opening up more shopping opportunities for business.
“We understand that it has been difficult for hotel facilities lately, so we are extending trading hours for certain events. It will create jobs and return valuable dollars to small businesses, ”Anderson said.
Extended trading hours do not affect the time of the take-away alcohol trade, and individual trade restrictions or other special license terms for the sale of alcoholic beverages continue to apply to these activities.
