A 28-year-old man went blind in one eye with potatoes after an attack while riding a scooter.
The 28-year-old man was left blind forever in one eye after being attacked by potatoes while riding a scooter in northern Perth.
Police said the two men were driving south on the West Coast Drive footpath to Trig on orange scooters rented, around 9.30pm last Friday, when they were allegedly attacked.
“As scooters approached the Mettams Pool, passengers in a white sedan, who were also riding on West Coast Drive, threw or shot at the scooter, injuring one of the riders,” a police statement said Tuesday.
In addition to the final loss of vision in one eye, the victim received several facial fractures and a broken arm.
He remains in the hospital where he is being treated.
Detectives want to talk to anyone who saw the incident or anyone “throwing or shooting” potatoes or other items in the area.
