Ewin and Daraval woman Tywarna Campbell retained her Australian super flyweight title in a blood-soaked contest at Newcastle’s Awabakal Ground on Saturday.
The 22-year-old girl convincingly dealt with the challenger Jessica Adams unanimously 49- 46 49-46, 48-47 table of indicators.
A former junior world champion, Campbell looked quick, steady and confident throughout the eight rounds.
The ninth bout of fight promotion No Limit’s indigenously-owned Super Saturday boxing festival saw it close to, if not the most exciting, first half of the card.
After groping her way through the early stages, Campbell slowly took control in the middle rounds.

Despite carrying a few herself, a nasty blow in the third drew blood from Adams’ nose, setting the tone for the fourth round until the final bell.
The punches continued for the next few rounds, the stoppage of the fight going begging.
Despite the brutality, spirits remained high between the pair, often sharing big smiles and good sportsmanship as blood dripped onto both fighters and the ring.
Campbell returns to Wollongong as an undefeated Australian champion in her still young professional career.
